Front of house
Valet, delivery driver, barista, vendor, busser, barback, food runner, expediter, coat check, server, bartender, head server, sommelier, maître d’ and general manager.
Back of house
Dishwasher, kitchen help, prep cook, butcher, fish cutter, line cook, sushi roller, pizza cook, wok cook, grill cook, oyster shucker, pastry cook, sous-chef, chef and event chef.
Rates and payments
Choose the rate that works for you.
Request a rate based on the role, your experience, location and shift details. The establishment reviews your request, and the agreed rate is confirmed before the contract begins.
Keep your confirmed rate
Epic Staff's marketplace service fee is charged to the establishment. It is not deducted from your contractor pay.
Add taxes when applicable
If you are registered to charge GST/QST, add your tax information in the app so applicable amounts can be included with your payment.
Track your payment
Once the work and hours are confirmed, your payment is sent for processing. Arrival time can vary by payment provider and financial institution.

Know the practical details before you accept.
How much should I charge?
You choose the rate you request. Consider the role, your experience, shift timing, location, urgency and local demand. An establishment must still accept the requested rate before it becomes the confirmed contract rate.
What information can establishments see?
Depending on your profile, establishments may see your name, profile media, location-related information, roles, requested rates, skill-question responses, recorded experience, reviews and platform status indicators. See the Privacy Policy for how information is used and shared.
Are my skills independently tested?
The product stores self-reported skill answers, role selections, recorded experience and peer reviews. Epic Verified is a platform status, but current records do not contain a public checklist or audit trail showing which checks were completed.
What if I need to cancel?
Review the current cancellation terms before accepting. The platform records cancellation timing categories, but the exact public rules, any charge and indicator duration are not confirmed. For an emergency, contact support as soon as possible.
Who handles insurance and workplace safety?
Uniform requirements can be included in each contract. Tool, orientation, insurance and tip responsibilities are governed by the contract, applicable agreements and law; confirm them with the establishment before accepting.
What if a payment fails?
Epic Staff’s support tools can identify failed or cancelled payment transactions and retry eligible payments. Contact support with the contract details. Never send bank credentials by email.
Contractors use Epic Staff to seek and accept service contracts. Legal or tax status depends on the facts of the working relationship and applicable law. Consider professional tax or legal advice for your situation.
